Hello Family and Friends,

We made a day stop in another location where Brett has lived, Kansas City, Missouri (KCMO). He lived a few years in KCMO sometime in his 20s after leaving DC. And again he got all excited to show me all his old hang out spots.

We of course had to get some barbecue. I'm not a huge fan of barbecue. It's not offensive, but I just don't think it is anything special. However, Brett swears that KCMO barbecue is the best. I had some burnt ends and they were really good. It wasn't drowned in sauce and the meat spoke for itself; super tender and flavorful.

Brett also took us to this one restaurant where we were served by trains. Atlas was so distracted by the trains that he didn't eat much.

A little later Brett was able to convince Atlas that wearing his conductor hat is fun...for a little while.

We then continued with the whole train theme and went to visit the Thomas the Tank Engine display.

We also visited ANOTHER lego store. Brett tried to convince me it was for Atlas, but we all know it was for Brett. I used his own arguments against him in order to prevent him from buying lego sets; we're traveling and don't have space.

It was a little difficult to really enjoy KCMO. We are headed east, which means the weather is getting more humid, which means we avoid outside. We try to find indoor things to do, but that means we missed all of KCMO fountains. I read that the city has more fountains than any other city besides Rome. Probably would have been nice to do a fountain tour in cooler weather.
