Hello Family and Friends,

We have reached California and it's beautiful! But honestly, all of the west coast has had amazing scenery. It may take forever to get out West via highways, but the drive is spectacular.

A random photo I snapped while driving through California and talking to my mom so that she could share the scenery with me.

We only gave ourselves one day in wine country. We aren't huge fans of wines, but we did actually find some that we liked on the Napa Valley Wine Train. We took Atlas and had lunch along with some wine tasting riding on a restored hundred year old classic train.

On our train ride we learned that only 4% of California wine is grown in Napa. But what makes Napa wine so famous is that it beat out French wine in a blind competition in 1976 which brought it notoriety. I like that most of the wine grown in Napa is by family farms.

The wine train was a very enjoyable way to see a lot of the wine country and learn some things about the valley. They had options for dancing, hop on/off wine tours and even a murder on a train dinner theater but all of those were restricted to older children or adults.
