Hello Family and Friends,
So we finally arrived in ATL yesterday after a two week delay. Specifically Inman Park, which is the neighborhood we are checking out at the moment. It was rated high for walkability and we are going to put it to the test. We arrived very late and were ready to get into our AirBNB, get some food and go to bed. We are sometimes very unplanned and needed to get dinner late. So decent late night eats are super important. Inman Park did not disappoint. We got dinner at 9:30 pm with a 19 mo. old "The Albert" is probably more of a neighborhood bar than a restaurant, but they had food and a kids menu. Some major football game was just ending (the AFC playoffs?); you know that Brett and I had no idea this was a major Sunday for football. So Albert's was 86 on a lot of things. But we were able to get a diner burger and chicken wings, and both were very good. In addition Albert also had excellent brussel sprouts and mexican street corn. The server told us one of their most popular sides was kale. Yes, it is that kind of neighborhood. Don't judge! Atlas got his burger patty. NO bun, no cheese, no ketchup; just meat (this kid). We also were able to stop at "Savi Provision" in order to get essentials such as milk and bananas. Atlas does not sleep without a bottle of milk. And the best part, both Savi and Albert were walking distance form our AirBNB. A great first night in Inman Park.
The next morning we wake up and head to breakfast about noon. I mean lunch, of course. But we had breakfast food at "Bread and Butterfly". The portions were perfect and the food was light, except for the pancake. It was larger than the large plate and Atlas still ate half of it. The kid did good! And I have to give a shout out to the hostes, she brought him toys and books to try to keep him entertained while we waited on food. Keyword: try. But she was so very sweet. I also ordered their homemade biscuit, that they make when you order it. Waited 15 min for it, but oh so worth it! Just so warm and so good. They also had loose leaf tea, which you all know is a must for me. And guess what guys, we still have not gotten into the car. And for dinner, the same. We walked to dinner and ate at this excellent middle eastern restaurant "Delbar". They were rated 4.9 on google and they deserve every bit of that rating. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. At this point, this neighborhood is hitting on all the good points.

And yes we have seen other things to do besides eat, even though that may be one of the top priorities. So other things that we have walked by in the neighborhood that we find useful. There is a dog groomer, multiple nail salons, pediatric dentist and primary care office. But we did have to get in the car to go to get real groceries. There is a Kroger a little over a mile from where we are staying. You could walk, but google said 21 min walking so we drove. But the Kroger is next to the Target, Lowe's, Marshall's, Ross and Burlington. This is definitely more of a corporate shopping center, but I'm not complaining too much.
Now there are some other things that we are still looking to try. We are staying within walking distance of the Jimmy Carter library and park. We are also within walking distance of the belt line, which we will definitely check out on a day it is not raining. So stay tuned. More to come, when I feel like posting.
